In this blog I am going to share the most amazing experience of my career hood
This is my story of Working in Call Centre
I have started doing job a long back in the year 2012. But since I was pursuing my graduation, so I was only doing a part time job to gain some experience. After completing my graduation my career objective was pretty much clear. I wanted to choose a HR profile and wanted to build a career into that field.
But as always, my life will never fail to surprise me.
I have joined a job as a HR Executive in a renowned firm. I worked there for about 10 months. But after some time I have realized that something is missing. Because of that missing factor I am not feeling confident while performing all my job roles. It was indeed a great opportunity for me. But I feel like I have missed some steps in reaching out here.
So finally, one day I have realized that may be the communication factor is missing in me. I felt like I wanted to share so many things with people, but I am not able to express my thoughts in a correct way.
So rather regretting I have decided to turn back and take steps into the direction of learning communication. I always wanted to be a good communicator in my life.
I was so happy that I took the right decision that time to join a call center and work on my communication skills to make myself a better communicator.
So let me tell you there is lots of reviews about working in a call center.
Some people think it is a waste of time, its not a good job, its just a time pass etc.
But I am going to share my experience that what I think about working in a call center.
So for me It was the most amazing, unforgettable and memorable experience of my career hood. I have never ever regretted my decision of working in a call center.
I left HR Executive profile to join in a call center as a TSR (Tele Sales Representative) in Australian International Process.
My Shift timing was early in the morning it starts from 5:00 am till 3:00 pm in the afternoon. The company is providing the cab services, so i don’t even need to worry about the commutation part.
So on my first day I have realized that it was a totally different environment, I was joined in a batch of 20 new employees and we are going to take the product training together.
So everybody in my batch was having some kind of previous experience in working in call center so I was the only odd one out in the batch.
In one week training I have experienced so many different things at I have enjoyed thoroughly it was full of fun, as nobody is putting pressure on you for the targets and even if you are getting single lead, people are appreciating and praising you.
In my training tenure I was quite lucky as I got lead almost everyday and got appreciation from my trainers.
But the scene has completely changed when I have been shifted into my new team. All my batch mates are shuffled into different teams and process.
So I became alone again and looking forward for my new journey in the team. So since I am in a team I have to anyhow achieve my daily target which is seems to be impossible for me as I was facing so many issues in understanding and holding the customers on call. I got really disappointed and mentally disturbed. I have thought that I can’t survive in this environment this is full of pressure.
If you are not getting leads you have to answer your manager every hour.
I was felling like I have stuck somewhere and get rid of it.
I have discussed these issues with my other batch mates they have also told me the same story. At that point I felt relieved that I am not the only one stuck here. In this feeling I was not able to work properly and show my performance, my 12 batch mates already left the job because of pressure, but I don’t have the option as I was going through the financial hardship.
Again the turning point came into my journey and I have been shifted to different process. I got new team mates and new friends as well. The colleagues of my new team was very supportive. It was a quite easy process in comparison to my last sales process.
I got my confidence back as I am doing good in my new process with the help and advice of my friends and other team mates.
In call centre once you start performing in team, you will get so many benefits
It was kind of a fascinating feeling for me as I was experiencing this for the very first time
With the passing time I have started earning more money from incentive and daily spiffs,
Finally I have got evolved into this call centre experience. Just loving the atmosphere, Indeed it is an another world, no age boundaries, you will find everyone friendly and open minded, and even if you don’t want to adjust in that environment, you are free to choose your own space like I did.
I have created my own space with bunch of quality people in it and also learned alot of good things from working in call centre, and I will always be thankful for all my managers and colleagues for that.
Its was quite hard for me to leave that company after working for about 2.5 years. I have made so many good friends and collected so many good memories.
So this is my story of working in a call centre, I hope you guys enjoyed the blog.
